Founder History
From the 1800s, the Bibi family were a family of artisans. They traveled the world doing restorations of palaces and custom builds as silversmiths. In the 1910s, Joseph and his son Reuben Bibi, our ancestors, came from France for the World's Fair in California.
After settling in the United States, they decided to move to New York City where Reuben met his wife. Reuben's father-in-law, Isaac Mizrahi, was in the window treatment business since the 1800s in Lebanon and continued when he came to New York in 1906.
Eventually, the Bibi family went into chandelier manufacturing.
Always evolving with the needs of each generation, the family went into home and contract furnishings.
Sampson Mills was founded in 2011 and came full circle back to the window treatment roots. Sampson Mills began as an idea for quality fabrics to be made at affordable prices.
A lot has evolved since then as with all innovative companies. Sampson Mills now has a full line of window treatment and room dividing hardware. In addition, our in house engineers work on private label products for some of our private clients.
